Details

Bavikonda Kilchikia is one of the most untouched and stunning trails that Bangaloreans can enjoy over the weekend. This trek begins at the foothills of the Mullodi village which is surrounded by soothing waterfalls within a 15 km radius. The most unique thing about this trek is that it takes place within the open face of the hills and also has a ridge walk towards the peak which will give you a view that you will not be able to forget for the rest of your life.

This was my first time with PTU. And it really was an unplanned event. Although I was planning with thrillophillia but they ditched at the end. But I would say I'm lucky to have joined this group for the Kodachadri trek. It was a beautiful experience soaked in the nature with mesmerizing views and enchanting waterfalls. We were a group of 16 with 2 trek leaders Dipika and Mayank. It was amazing to see such young duo pulling it off so well. From transport to accomodation to meals all was taken care very swiftly. I learned a lot in this trip including the motif to spread awareness in people to stop using plastic not littering around, and sow seeds as many as you can. It wasn't just a trek but a learning in process. Frankly I was a little sceptical about the food and accommodation. Accomodation was a basic local Homestay. But to my surprise, the host at the Homestay were a very warm n humble couple who welcomed us with all hearts. Aunty cooked such nice n light meals. She packed lunch for us for the trek as well. Trust me, you do not need to worry for stay and food hygiene. It was well chosen. And we had a nice time in the late evening after the trek, we played games and team building activities on the way. All in all, PTU exceeded my expectations. Am definitely planning another one with them!! For a first timer and a solo trekker, the experience was amazing and flawless. There are many fun games organised during the trip to help you get out of your comfort zone and mingle with the group! Had an amazing time with the trek planned by Plan The Unplanned for 17 colleagues from my office. Very responsive service from the staff. They can customise according to requirements.Coming to the Trek at Maklidurg, it was not just the uphill and downhill journey, but also the fun and excitement that was added to it by our Trek leaders Rucha and Oshin. They encouraged us to participate more and get out of our comfortable cocoons to really enjoy everything. Be it the food, the games, the singing and dancing in the bus - it was all full of energy. And the bus we got was also a nice one. I was expecting it will be like the traveller bussed but it was a proper mini bus. 20th September Waynad Night trek: Quite disappointing this time. I'm a regular trekker for PTU and this was 4th trek. UNFORTUNATELY it didn't go well as expected. Facilities provided was very poor no hot water no authentic Kerala food which was suppose to be provided. Trek leads were baised and since having their personal favourite ppl who's photos were click and stopping on in the way... Im a solo traveler couldn't enjoy the way I used enjoy in last treks... This was my first trek in South India, and as I was surfing through the internet for a good trek package, I couldn't find any better than PTU. The trek leaders treated everyone like their family and because of their enthusiasm, we could finish our trek in time and had lots and lots of fun. The best thing was the homestay, the old couple were very welcoming and took good care of us, the typical south Indian food was scrumptious. The most amazing thing was that even after the trek no one was tired, we were non-stop chit-chatting. Trek Leads Aadi (the entertainer of our group), Gurpriya (mature amongst all) and Abhiram(Serious guy but gave us something to laugh on the whole trip) taught us that "alone we are strong but together we are stronger". Kodachadri trek had the perfect combination of steep, rocky and plain terrain. We also got to see a waterfall and had a lot of fun over there. I strongly recommend PTU to everyone who wants to explore nature with adventure. This was my first trek with PTU. The efforts of the PTU team were remarkable. They treated everyone like their family. They help you and encourage you to finish the trek with great energy.The trinity - Adith, Gurpriya and Abhiram - interacted with every member so that nobody felt left out.The food was amazing and the homestay was comfortable and secure. Late night walks and early morning teas were the icing on the cake. I have made three great friends whom I will never forget. I hope I get a chance to do this again with the same leads soon. Preparing myself for my next trek. ;)You know they are genuinely good people when they feed the street dogs, educate people about environmental awareness and treat everyone as their kin.I recommend everyone to give a try - newbies or experienced. Had been to waynad with PTU n this was my first trip with them and previously I had been to lot of places with lot of other organizers but I can say PTU is best among all. This was my first trekand solo travel experience. Although I was a bit skeptical about how it will turn out but my experience was way beyond my expectations. The trek and the place was nevertheless beautiful, but the kind and friendly trek leads made it very easy to break the ice among everyone. Everyone felt like really good friends by the end of it. The trip was an amazing experience for a weekend getaway. We got out of the hustle bustle of the city into a peaceful homestay with a beautiful view. All the co-trekkers bonded really well and our trek leads (Shashi and Prakrithi) made everyone feel included. The first day was trek to Tadiandamol peak and despite all the hurdles, the view from the top was worth all the effort. The second day included white water rafting and visit to Namdroling monastery. Both of them had their own experiences and one must experience both. Overall, it was a great first experience with PTU and it was a combination of the serenity of the place and the amazing people and trek leads we got to hang out with. I booked a trip to Hampi with these guys. Loved the campsite, food, arrangement and planning. As luck would have it, the group was stuck in unforeseen floods. Not only did they make sure we had resources and were all safe, but they also kept the spirits up. They make an enthusiastic and extremely accommodating group of people. I had the most eventful trip of my life so far. It would not have been possible without Jatin, Arpita and Adith, and the oodles experience they carry with them. I will definitely recommend planning your next trip with these guys! Kudremukh Trek (3rd Aug - 5th Aug)I have been planning for the Kudremukh Trek for a long time. But was very hesitant to do it on my own. There is a limited (50 person) entry for the trek to the Kudremukh and I was not sure about the entry, gates and entry free. Online portals dont have specifics of the details, and the information didnt seem updated. After doing some research, I came across Plan the Unplanned (PTU), and they seemed to be the most reliable. I heard great review from friends and colleagues, so I went ahead and booked Kudremukh Trek for the weekend of 3rd - 5th August. It was a wonderful trip, to say the least. The planning and execution were absolutely on point, and Plan the Unplanned (PTU) exceeded my expectations. Below are some highlights: Very good transportation facility (AC Bus) Stay was arranged at Bella Homestay. Good clean dorm room. Separate rooms for boys and girls. We were 11 guys staying in room. But it was still decently comfortable. Great food at the homestay. Aunty makes some amazing Idllis and Tomato rice :D Permits were taken care before reaching the entry point of the trek, avoiding last minute hassles. (Such a relief) It was relatively easy for experienced hikers but moderate for newbies. But definitely one of the most scenic treks with lots of greenery and gushing water streams on the way. And windows XP theme hills ;) The fellow trekkers were good. Very motivated and great sport. Last but not the least the Trek Leader (Adith, Megha, Deepika, Yash) were awesome. They are very engaging and responsible. Kudremukh trekkers were mostly in contact with Adith & Megha. And they did an awesome job of coordination and I highly recommend them.
